Our clients appreciate a quick link to the websites that offer information on their tax refund status and a free credit report. We occasionally provide electronic newsletters with helpful information. Please use the links below to connect with these resources.
Where’s My Refund?
The links below will connect you to websites where you can receive information about the status of your federal and North Carolina tax refunds. These links are provided as a service to our clients and the sites are not affiliated with Dodson, Shelton & Nelson, P.A.
Free Credit Report
Federal law provides you with an opportunity to obtain a free credit report once a year from each of these credit reporting services: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. We encourage you to check your credit report to see if there are inaccuracies that need to be corrected or evidence of identity theft.
The ONLY website that will link you to this free service is www.annualcreditreport.com.
We recommend checking your credit report three times a year, rotating between Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, so that you only use each service once a year. If you spot inaccuracies in your report, these websites provide information about how to correct your report and how to report evidence of identity theft.
There are many other websites that will offer credit reports, credit score “fixes,” FICO scores, interpretations of your credit score, identity theft prevention, and other services. These sites always charge a fee and they may be phishing websites that will steal and use your information for identity theft. WE CAUTION YOU TO AVOID THESE WEBSITES.
